Both on and off the road: professionals opt for SIGMA SPORT®
Once again in 2009, cycling professionals from the road race and mountain bike scenes are opting for professional products from SIGMA SPORT®. Every year the traditional German company from Neustadt / Weinstrasse supports numerous important bike events at home and abroad.

Besides the Danish team SAXOBANK, which takes part in more than 80 races per season, SIGMA SPORT® also supports the French teams BOUYGUES TELECOM and AG2R LA MONDIALE. Right from the start of the season, riders like Fabian Cancellera (SAXOBANK team) and Thomas Voeckler (BOUYGUES TELECOM) have been able to bring in successful results. Always best informed about the time by the SIGMA bike computer, Cancellera won the Tour of California Prologue and Voeckler claimed overall victory in the Etoile de Besseges. But also at national level, SIGMA SPORT® is continuing its long-standing collaboration with the SPARKASSE team. The team from Bochum already showed promise at the Mallorca Challenge and have now recorded their first win of the season at the GP de Pueblo Park.

The electronics company from Neustadt is also underlining its commitment off the road. With the teams BULLS, ROCKY MOUNTAIN and VAUDE-SIMPLON, SIGMA SPORT® also supports three notable MTB teams. As a result, the current French marathon champion and Marathon World Cup 2008 runner-up, Thomas Dietsch from the BULLS team, along with three other professional riders and four rookies, will put their trust in SIGMA products in the 2009 season. The experienced Finnish rider, Pia Sundstedt, also wants to continue her success story for the ROCKY MOUNTAIN team. What is interesting is the different preparation for the season by the riders in the winter months. Pia Sundstedt, for example, uses cross country skiing as a whole body sport for building up and maintaining her physical performance. Team colleague Carsten Bresser hopes to really open up the throttle again this year. The five-time winner of the Bike Transalp also applies his motto "Fight to the last metre" to his training methods. Bresser has thus honed his basic fitness from numerous winter marathons and runs, and thanks to SIGMA heart rate computers, is able to keep a constant check on his training parameters.

SIGMA SPORT® wishes its teams and their athletes a successful 2009 season.
