Fabulous spectacle at bike festival by Lake Garda
The Sympatex Bike Festival Garda Trentino on the shores of Lake Garda once again attracted tens of thousands of enthusiastic mountain bike fans to Italy's biggest lake. Besides the tours, the festival provided fun for everyone with numerous exhibitions, shows and activities. Naturally, the market leader as regards bike computers  – SIGMA SPORT® - could not miss out on such an event.

The SIGMA team made use of its own stand to inform visitors about products, answer questions about how to assemble them and give tips on all matters concerning bike equipment. Many visitors took advantage of this service and sought advice about topics such as training parameters, lighting, safety and plenty more besides. Furthermore, the festival visitors were also given the chance to win great prizes from the exclusive raffle at the SIGMA stand. SIGMA SPORT® raffled off one ROX 9.0 , the top class bike computer, among all festival visitors every day. And as a top prize among all those taking part, a trip to the ROCKY MOUNTAIN DAYS in Kleinwalsertal from 3rd - 5th July 2009 was raffled off.

The lucky winners of the ultimate bike computer ROX 9.0  were Stefan Thiel from Ascholding (Friday), Dieter Marquardt from Lauffen (Saturday) and Michaela Burmann from Munich (Sunday). The prize to take part in the ROCKY MOUNTAIN DAYS in Kleinwalsertal was won by Martin Perrot from Nordhausen. You can find out more about the Kleinwasertal event below www.sigma-rox.com  .

The focus of the festival was on the races. The highlight of these was the ROCKY MOUNTAIN BIKE MARATHON powered by Vaude, which took place on the Saturday. Altogether, 2,300 participants in all categories contested the coveted top podium places. The programme featured four different routes, the highlight of which was the 105.3 kilometre long course, the "Ronda Extrema". With a time of 4:30.25 hours, Hannes Genze from the Multivan Merida Biking Team was able to beat Tim Böhme from the SIGMA SPORT® sponsored BULLS team by just a few seconds. At a little more than three minutes behind, Thomas Dietsch, also from Team BULLS , secured a respectable fourth place.

Among the women, the Freiburg cyclist Pia Sundstedt from the Rocky Mountain team impressed once again, taking second place behind Antonia Wipfli (CH-Seedorf UR).

As a sponsor, SIGMA SPORT® congratulates the riders from Team BULLS and the ROCKY MOUNTAIN Bike team on their outstanding results: 9th Stefan Sahm (Team BULLS), 11th Karl Platt (Team BULLS), 12th Carsten Bresser (ROCKY MOUNTAIN) and 22nd Daniel Gathof (ROCKY MOUNTAIN) can rely on SIGMA bike computers  at all times in training and competition.
