What is new?
This new rechargeable battery technology is an enhanced form of the NiMH rechargeable batteries that were previously used. These cells go by the names LSD NiMH and RTU NiMH. LSD stands for “low self-discharge” and highlights the key advantage of these new rechargeable battery cells: Their vastly reduced self-discharge compared to standard NiMH rechargeable battery cells. RTU stands for “ready to use” and emphasizes the enhanced product feature of being continually ready to use thanks to the low self-discharge.
What are we replacing?
All SIGMA rechargeable batteries with 1500 mAh and 2100 mAh are being replaced with these new, more resistant power suppliers.
Why are making replacements?
SIGMA supports the ideas of sustainability, energy conservation and environmental protection and advocates the reduction of costs for the consumer.

From a technical perspective
SIGMA RTU NiMH rechargeable batteries have a new inner structure and a newly develop-
ed separator and cathode. This gives them a lower inner resis-
tance, which leads to a more stable voltage even with higher discharge currents. The batte-
ries are much more efficient with vastly reduced self discharge.
