| Freiburg University examined SIGMA Heart Rate Monitors more closely
In order to be able to carry out purposeful training you must be able to rely on the values in the Heart Rate Monitor. This is the only way to avoid overload and ensure exact evaluation of training.
In order to guarantee this the SIGMA pulse watch was examined more closely by Freiburg University and the measurement precision was tested with a calibrated ECG simulator.
The simulated heart rate was compared with the heart rate displayed by the SIGMA Heart Rate Monitors at various heart rates and various intensities. The signal stability was also tested by using various rhythm disturbances.
A high level of precision in the reading of given rates was shown in all heart rate sectors with a signal intensity of 1 mV, the correlation of determination R2 in the regression analysis was 0.9999. The equipment also proved itself to be robust in the display of erroneous ECG patterns when displaying rates.
As a result the inspected SIGMA Heart Rate Monitor was certified as having a level of precision that is comparable to commercial ECG systems.
